Joe Nichols heads Down Under
"Joe has been a big hit here in Australia," said promoter Rob Potts. "The country music fans can't seem to get enough of him. I know he sold out of product at each of his previous shows. He has been diligent and consistent about coming back to Australia to develop his fan base here, and I feel like that's paying off for him."
"My previous visits to Australia created fantastic memories, so I'm definitely looking forward to another visit," Nichols said. "I can't wait to get back to Australia - it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I think every person in the entire country is nice. Seriously - I haven't seen or heard of a mean person yet. And they love country music. Gonna be a great time."
Joining Nichols on tour will be special guests Jasmine Rae and Peter McWhirter. Rae toured with Nichols during his 2009 visit to Australia. The two recorded a duet, I'll Try Anything, and found on Rae' newly released sophomore CD, "Listen Here."
The Shape I'm In tour kicks off at the Empire Theatre in Towoomba April 29 and visit Caboolture, Rockhampton, Sydney and Albury before wrapping up in Melbourne.

Joe Nichols is best known by many as the guy that sings "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off," so it seems like more than mere coincidence how "Never Gets Old" opens with "Diamonds Make Babies," another song featuring a lyrical example of anthropomorphism. Such a lyrical tactic may grow tiresome quick, but hearing Nichols' resonant, traditional country singing voice will never ever get old.

Joe Nichols suffers from a split personality. With a fine voice like his and songs from his past like Brokenheartsville, Nichols is strongly positioned to lay claim to being one of the very few last traditional country singers standing. There just aren't a whole lot of folks out there with the twang and phrasing (listen to how he holds the notes on the lead-off Just Let Me Fall in Love With You or the twang in Baby You're in Love With Me) out there like Nichols.
