Carrie Underwood driver killed in Saturday crash
Sunday, March 21, 2010 – A truck driver for Carrie Underwood was killed in a crash prior to her show Saturday in Connecticut.
The tractor-trailer plunged off Interstate 95 in Stonington Saturday morning with the truck bursting into flames.
During the concert at Foxwoods Casino, Underwood dedicated Temporary Home to the driver. About half-way through the concert, Underwood told the crowd about the accident and dedicated the song to the driver and his family.
According to the Norwich Bulletin, "remaining poised throughout most of the song, Underwood became shaky and tearful toward the end, receiving vocal support and a standing ovation from the thousands in attendance. She finished and the show continued without a hitch."
