McCoury undergoes gall bladder surgery

Tuesday, December 15, 2009 – Del McCoury underwent surgery to remove an inflamed gall bladder on Saturday, Dec. 12. McCoury was admitted two days prior to surgery to a hospital in Hendersonville, Tenn.

"The procedure was conducted without incident, and McCoury was released on Sunday to continue his recovery at home," according to a statement from his label.

"The McCoury family would like to thank all of those who expressed concern and prayed for the family during this time. Del is anticipating a quick recovery, and is looking forward to enjoying the holidays with his family and resuming personal appearances and other work in January," the statement said.
