Yonder Mountain String Band opens DMB dates

– Following their headlining album-release show at Red Rocks in the Denver area Aug. 28, Yonder Mountain String Band will join Dave Matthews as openers on four dates this September. Their first date with DMB, Sept. 1 in West Valley City, UT, coincides with the release of their new album 'The Show' (Frog Pad). Following that, they head to the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Wash. for three more dates with Matthews.
Yonder Mountain combines bluegrass and jam band sounds.

Anyone wondering if the 2014 departure of founding member and mandolinist Jeff Austin would alter the successful formula that Yonder Mountain String Band has used since their first album back in 1999 can rest easy after hearing what the new lineup has done with this new studio effort. The first in an ongoing series of EPs that will occupy the band as inspiration strikes them, "YMSB EP '13" represents true musical democracy, in that it offers one song apiece by each Yonder Mountain String Band member.
