Musgraves unveils "The Architect" video

Wednesday, December 4, 2024 – Kacey Musgraves unveiled the music video today for "The Architect" from her album "Deeper Well." The video is an ode to the wonders of nature.

Musgraves gave a solo acoustic performance of "The Architect" on the 2024 CMAs last month. The track also received two nominations of out of her total of five Grammy nods for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance. The song was derived from Musgraves' exploration of life's unknowns and her contemplation about whether life is driven by a higher power or if there is a blueprint for its course.

Musgraves said she wrote this song with her friends Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne in Nashville "around the time or a couple weeks after the insane Covenant School Shooting that happened there, and the community was just reeling and it felt just so off and scary. And you know, we got together to write a song, and we even felt guilty just being able to meet up and write a song and get to do something so pleasant as that when something so crazy had just happened. It sparked this very real conversation about life and how it's really confusing how there's so much suffering. There's also so much beauty at the same time, so it's this great weird duality of being a human, especially in these modern times."

CD review - star-crossed It's nearly impossible not to read between the lines when listening to Kacey Musgraves' "star-crossed" album, as it's her first release after her divorce from Ruston Kelley. Instead, to some extent, Musgraves sounds to be putting at least some of the blame on herself. One titled "Good Wife," finds ...
CD review - Very Kacey Christmas Sometimes it's not about what you play, but the way you play it, and with "A Very Kacey Christmas," Kacey Musgraves sacrifices a little surprise for a relatively pleasantly predictable holiday offering. For instance, Musgraves' duet with Willie Nelson plays on (surprise surprise) the iconic singer's propensity to smoke weed when they wish the world "A Willie Nice Christmas." Although there are some sad country songs, like "Christmas Makes Me Cry" and ...
CD review - Pageant Material Kacey Musgraves is a welcome throwback in these bro and modern country times. That means you're going to hear sharp lyrics with more than a touch of humor, story songs and even instrumentation that recalls traditional country, like pedal steel, mandolin and a Johnny Cash drumbeat. Musgraves' tour de force is her uncanny ability to turn a phrase. She does employ fellow producers Luke Laird and Shane McAnally plus Brandy Clark and Josh Osborne, among others, for lyrical help. ...
