Flatland Cavalry returns to the road

Monday, January 16, 2023 – Flatland Cavalry will return to the road this spring with a nationwide headline tour.

Tickets for the tour go on-sale this Friday, Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. eastern.

Flatland Cavalry will also join Luke Combs' World Tour for 16 sold-out stadium shows later this year.

Based in both Texas and Nashville, Flatland Cavalry is Cleto Cordero (vocals, acoustic guitar), Jason Albers (drums), Jonathan Saenz (bass), Reid Dillon (electric guitar, harmonica, second fiddle), Wesley Hall (fiddle) and Adam Gallegos(piano, keys, mandolin, banjo, electric guitar).

The band released a new EP, "Songs to Keep You Warm, "this past fall. Produced by Bruce Robison and recorded at The Bunker in Lockhart, Texas, the EP consists of six tracks including "Mountain Song," which was recently featured in Paramount Network's hit show, "Yellowstone."

The EP is the band's first new music since the release of their 2021 album, "Welcome to Countryland."

CD review - Welcome to Countryland The third full-length release from the Lubbock,Texas-based Flatland Cavalry is an appealing mix of alt.-country with influences from the outlaw movement and '90s mainstream country. Frontman Cleto Cordero handles lead vocal duties along with writing or co-writing 13 of the 14 tracks. The opening "Country Is..." has a Merle Haggard feel and examines what defines "country" with such references as "But a steel guitar paints this old heart a shade of Cowboy Blue" ...
A cowboy is pictured riding a horse on the cover of Flatland Calvary's "Homeland Insecurity," heading for the big city. Homeland Security is the department created to fight terrorism, but many of Flatland Calvary's songs speak about in-home insecurities of the romantic variety, more so than any sort of international terrorist threat. The best song, "Pretty Women," is a sad overview of 'pretty on the outside, sad on the inside' girls. ...
