ZBB is "...Having Fun"

Friday, September 17, 2021 – Zac Brown Band released the feel-good track "Fun Having Fun" today.

Written by lead singer Zac Brown alongside Kenny Habul, Kurt Thomas and Ben Simonetti, the song is featured on their forthcoming new album, "The Comeback," out Oct. 15 via Warner Music Nashville/Home Grown Music.

"'Fun Having Fun' is about all the dumb stuff you do when you're a kid," said Brown. "One of my co-writers on the track is actually my buddy Kurt (Thomas), who I went to high school with in Dahlonega. He and I made a demo tape when we were kids called KZ, for Kurt and Zac, and he was the first guy I ever sat down with and thought, 'We're gonna be big.' It was fun to circle back to that time in my life and remember some of the things that we did together, especially with the perspective of now being a parent. We really wanted to include a bluegrass-type song on this album, and 'Fun Having Fun' was definitely the right one."

"The Comeback" also features the lead single, "Same Boat." Entirely co-written and co-produced by Brown, the new record is the band's latest since their 2019 release of "The Owl."

CD reviews for Zac Brown Band

CD review - Welcome Home With "Welcome Home," the Zac Brown Band continues to do what it does best, which is making quality roots music. In fact, one of the album's songs is even titled "Roots." Brown may not be the most religious guy, but his latest songs focus on many truly spiritual cornerstones of life: family and friends. Both "Family Table" and "My Old Man" find Brown reflecting on his family life, with the latter also looking at 'the here and now' of being a father himself. ...
CD review - Jekyll + Hyde Fans looking for the Zac Brown Band of 2005 won't find it in "Jekyll + Hyde" - there's nothing but an aftertaste of the Georgia group's chicken-fried origins. That might be why the album's name is so appropriate. Fans have gotten to know the country-folk band, but a deviant creeps in on all 16 tracks of its fourth album. And, like the classic story, Hyde stands out as more interesting. It hits hard, too. The opener, "Beautiful Drug," has an electric-pop ...
CD review - Uncaged Zac Brown Band's "Uncaged" album opens with Jump Right In, which finds singer/bandleader Brown admonishing, "Let the music pull you in," which might just be Brown's motto. He's all about forgetting the cares of the day and giving in wholeheartedly to the magnetic attraction of good music. Although Brown writes, sings and plays well throughout, there are nevertheless few truly standout tracks or unexpected surprises on "Uncaged." With that said, ...
