Dawson pays tribute to grandfather on "He Loved Her"

Friday, November 20, 2020 – Devin Dawson is paying tribute to his grandfather on the new release, "He Loved Her."

Dawson teamed up with the songwriting team behind Dan + Shay's mega hits "Tequila" and "All To Myself," Nicolle Galyon and Jordan Reynolds.

"'He Loved Her' is one of the most important songs I've ever written or released," Dawson said. "It's inspired by my grandfather, Jerry. My rock. It's different from other songs I've written because it's simple and to the point, which is sometimes hard for me to accomplish as a writer. I'm proud of the words, the music, and the tribute it pays to one of the most important people I'll ever know."

"He Loved Her" and the recently released "Range Rover" will both be included on his upcoming "The Pink Slip" EP, due Jan. 15, 2021.

Currently featured on HARDY's Top 5 single "One Beer" alongside Lauren Alaina, these songs mark the first new solo releases from Dawson since "God's Country," that he co-wrote for Blake Shelton.

Dawson's first single, "All on Me," went top 10 in 2017. The California native's lone album, "Dark Horse," came out in January 2018.
