Hannah Montana The Movie" may be riding atop the country album charts, but one would be hard pressed to label this soundtrack to the movie featuring Miley Cyrus a country disc. It's a good way half-way through the soundtrack disc before there's more than even a brief ode to country.
That doesn't mean Cyrus isn't a good singer. She is of strong voice and belts it out there, although on the acoustic Butterfly Fly Away with father Billy Ray Cyrus gets more tender to good effect. Rascal Flatts contributes two very good acoustic versions of previously recorded songs, the humorous Backwards, which emphasizes the vocal qualities of the Flatts when they tone it down, and Bless the Broken Road. Gal pal Taylor Swift offers the power ballad Crazier where her voice sounds good. But aside from this a reprise of Back to Tennessee by Cyrus the elder, this is a catchy, pop rock album.
