The Fun of Your Love (RCA, 2000)

Jennifer Day

Reviewed by Jeffrey B. Remz

The debut from Jennifer Day smacks of been there, heard that. From the image standpoint, that means a bunch of sexy poses on the CD jacket showing off her midriff and ability to pose in front of a camera.

Fortunatley, that has zero to do with the "heard that" issue. Like many of her young contemporaries, that means the music contains lots of loud guitars and drums to power the glossy sounding songs, four of which Day helped write, and very little of a country sound.

And when any country singer includes a Diane Warren song, you know the pop quotient will be almost off the meter.

Day has nice enough of a voice, but if looking for something new and unique, this ain't it.
