That's The Way Love Goes (Varese Sarabande, 1996)
Lefty Frizzell
Reviewed by Joel Bernstein
After his last Columbia hit, Lefty Frizzell spent seven more thoroughly unsuccessful years on the label. In 1973, he surfaced on ABC making a remarkable comeback. He teamed with Whitey Shafer to write his first important songs in nearly 20 years, including the title track to Varese's collection and the now classic "I Never Go Around Mirrors." The latter gave him his first Top Thirty hit in many moons, and "Lucky Arms" did even better.
