Don't Bail (Lynn Point, 1999)

Mic Harrison

Reviewed by Andy Turner

V-Roys singer and guitarist Mic Harrison's new release is actually just new to CD. Recorded in 1993 before Harrison was a Roy, "Don't Bail" was previously available only on cassette.

Ex-V-Roys Scott Miller and Jeff Bills join him on the album, which has much of the same catchy-ness/quirkiness/twangy-ness of his former band. Harrison mostly sings about the things young guys with guitars often sing about: small towns, broken hearts, getting drunk because you live in a small town and your heart is broken, etc. Nevertheless, his songs - funny and with plenty of heart - are undeniably appealing.
