Electoral politics and Luke Bryan

Jeffrey Remz  |  March 3, 2010

The campaign is on for Luke Bryan. With the help of folks like St. Louis Cardinals Manager Tony LaRussa and Mark McGwire, not to mention country folks, Bryan is launching a campaign to get the votes of fans as top new solo artist for the Academy of Country Music Awards being held in April in Las Vegas.

As part of the I'm Voting For Luke Bryan (Don't Vote for Luke Bryan) campaign, a four-minute video is on YouTube.

About half of the video encourages people not to vote for Bryan, and then, in a quick turn of events which starts with Bryan prancing around in a leotard, the vote is on. Risky move there, Luke.

Among those helping out are Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Little Jimmy Dickens, the members of Lady Antebellum, a few members of Riders in the Sky, Emily West, Kenny Rogers and Jason Aldean.

Don't expect to see Bryan on stage in a leotard any time soon!
