Congrats to Trace Adkins

Jeffrey Remz  |  February 26, 2010

Kudos to Trace Adkins for winning the 2010 Humanitarian Award from the Country Radio Seminar this week in Nashville.

Adkins comes off as a shoot from the hip conservative, but he has become involved in several worthy causes that led to this award. He has visited U.S. troops overseas.

He also has become heavily involved in the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN), a group dedicated to educating others about potentially life-threatening food allergies. This hit close to home for Adkins because his daughter, Brianna, was diagnosed with food allergies before she was even one. As a result, Adkins has been active on this front.

Country artists have a long history of giving back to the community. It's nice to see them receive their public due and bring even more attention to their causes, much as Adkins has done.
