Tucker takes home Grammys

Sunday, January 26, 2020 – Tanya Tucker's comeback continued the Grammys on Sunday. The veteran took home honors for Best Country Album for "While I'm Livin'" and her "Bring My Flowers Now," penned by Brandie Carlile, Phil Hanseroth, Tim Hanseroth and Tucker, took home the Grammy for Best Country Song.

Best Country Duo/Group Performance went to Dan + Shay for "Speechless." "This is one of the coolest moments ever," said Dan Smyers, "for inspiring the song, for inspiring every song that we write....This is an absolute dream come true."

"Old Town Road" won the Grammy for Music Video on Sunday. The hit song, although not on the country songs, was by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus. Calmatic, video director; Candice Dragonas, Melissa Larsen and Saul Levitz, video producers also won the Grammy. The song also took Best Pop/Duo Group Performance.

Near the end of the evening, John Prine received a Lifetime Achievement Award. Bonnie Raitt sang part of his "Angel From Montgomery" before announcing the award.

Willie Nelson won a Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance for "Ride Me Back Home."

Michael Cleveland won a Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album for "Tall Fiddler."

I'm With Her, the trio of Aioffe O'Donovan, Sarah Jarosz and Sara Watkins, took the Best Americana Roots Song for "Call My Name."

Keb Mo' won the Best Americana Album for "Oklahoma." "This is amazing," said Keb Mo'. "I don't know what to say...wow."

Patty Griffin scored a Grammy for Best Folk Album for the recording of the same name.

South Carolina-based band Ranky Tanky took home Regional Roots Album for "Good Time."

The Grammy for Song Written for Visual Media went to "I'll Never Love Again" from "A Star is Born." The song was penned by Natalie Hemby, Lady Gaga, Hillary Lindsay and Aaron Raitiere.

"A Star Is Born" with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper also won a Grammy for Best Compilation soundtrack for a visual media.

The Historical Album winner was "Pete Seeger: The Smithsonian Folkways Collection" - Jeff Place & Robert Santelli, compilation producers; Pete Reiniger, mastering engineer.

The Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song went to "God Only Knows," the song written by Dolly Parton; Josh Kerr, Jordan Reynolds, Joel Smallbone, Luke Smallbone and Tedd Tjornhom, songwriters, and recorded by King & Country and Parton.
