Levon signs deal
Friday, February 17, 2017
– Levon, a country band with influences related to its name, signed a deal with Sony Nashville and Epic Records.
Levon consists of three best friends: Northbrook, Ill. native Michael David Hall (on guitar and lead vocals, with a five-octave range); Sumter, S.C.'s Jake Singleton (on harmonies, bass and percussion); and Camden, Tenn., native Ryan Holladay (on guitar, mandolin, harmonies and background vocals).
A few of the trio's musical roots are suggested by their name, an homage to the talents of The Band's Levon Helm, as well as Elton John and his song, "Levon." All in their twenties, Levon's members nonetheless share a collective musical passion for the 1970s "Laurel Canyon Sound" generation.
Levon will begin a country radio promotional tour this spring in advance of the release of their debut single.

Concert Review: Turnpike Troubadours leave no doubt
Turnpike Troubadours have not released an album since mid-September 2015. Don't look for any new release hitting the streets any day now either. The last time the Oklahoma-based band played Boston, they were in a pretty, 1,200-seat theatre.
So, one could have been outwardly skeptical about the band when it downsized to a venue on the outskirts... »»»
