Drive-By Truckers visit Dave, Fallon
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 – The Drive-By Truckers will appear on "Late Show with David Letterman" on Friday, March 12 and "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" on Wednesday, March 31 in support of their new CD "The Big To-Do," out next Tuesday on ATO. They've also added additional dates to their tour including nine with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
The band will kick off the tour this week in Atlanta with a two-night stand at the Variety Playhouse then heading to SXSW where they'll play an in-store at Waterloo Records on Thursday, March 18 and hit Stubb's that night with Band of Horses and Broken Social Scene.
iClips Network will broadcast the band's performance live from the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta on Friday, March, 12 and their sold out show on Saturday, March 13. The band's long-time producer David Barbe will open the show with his band the Quick Hooks and they will also participate in the broadcast.

Brighter Than Creation's Dark
This represents the post-Jason Isbell era for Drive-By Truckers. And this songwriter of such great songs as "Outfit" off "Decoration Day" will certainly be missed.
But do not despair because the act's epic new collection (19 songs in total!) also introduces bassist Shonna Tucker as a solo singer. Her beautifully sad "I'm Sorry Huston" marks this newfound feminine touch as a welcome element within the overall DBT mix.

Blake Shelton was successful in February with "Six Pack," which his label said wasn't an EP, but at six tracks, you judge. Whatever. His new disc emphasizes uptempo, rocking songs with touches of twang. Shelton sings with vigor from the get go with the title song.
