Dodds drops new single

Friday, October 5, 2018 – Cale Dodds released a new single, "What We Gonna Do About It?"

"I'm really excited about getting this song out to fans," said Dodds, who is on the Warner Nashville label. "'What We Gonna Do About It' has the exact kind of party feel that I want in my live show. People come to a country music concert for an hour and a half to forget, and I want to give them something to remember."

Dodds, who penned the tune with producer Corey Crowder and Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard, also created the concept for its official music video. With the help of his band, director Dustin Haney and a senior center in Nashville, the video premiered today.

"When I told my manager and Dustin, the director, what I wanted to do for the visuals, they said, 'That's probably the most you idea we've ever heard.' They were right. I love making people laugh, and I think that's exactly what this video will do. I'm lucky to have a team around me that gave us the creative freedom to make our vision come to life."

The Georgia native has achieved some success as a songwriter, including with A Thousand Horses. His first single for the label, "All Over," came out last year.

These are the touchstones of country , the guys who made country music what it was and still is (or maybe can be). When these folks would sing about being down-and-out and the rough-and-tumble, they knew of what they were singing about. Fast forward a few years to the country singers of today. »»»
Concert Review: No matter what you call it, The Cadillac Three are really good – On the face of it, Kelby Ray's omnipotent pedal steel lines weaving in and out of The Cadillac Three's songs would make you willing to get the family farm the trio was a country music band. In reality, that would be stretching the already hyper-elastic boundaries of what constitutes country these days. Yes, there was a country vibe from the... »»»
Concert Review: Alaina enjoys the difference – Why was this night different from most other nights for Lauren Alaina? For starters, instead of opening in arenas for Blake Shelton, which she's been doing lately, she headlined her own show at a very small, intimate club. That afforded her the chance to stretch out musically and otherwise in a warm, engaging 70-minute set from the country pop singer.... »»»

Taylor uncovers the past, offering new perspectives Suffice it to say that the past has always loomed large throughout Chip Taylor's career. That's all the more obvious if only for the fact that Taylor wrote some of the biggest pop hits of the '60s, "Wild Thing"... »»»
