Eli Young Band tastes"Saltwater Gospel"

Friday, June 3, 2016 – Eli Young Band is releasing a new single for a new label for the band next week, it announced today.

"Saltwater Gospel' ships to radio next week and will be available for purchase on June 10. This marks the band's first single for The Valory Music Co., part of the Big Machine Label group.

The band has enjoyed previous hits with "Crazy Girl," "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" and "Drunk Last Night."

The idea behind "Saltwater Gospel" is that it transports the listener to their favorite beach, where the power of the ocean melts away the troubles of everyday life while connecting them to their own spirituality. Lyrics include:
Yeah I got all the proof I need/and it sure makes me believe
When I go down and sink my feet in the water and I soak up that sun and I watch it set.
Yeah, I can feel the power of the saltwater gospel
I'm as close to God as I can get.

EYB lead singer Mike Eli said, "Sometimes you just have that gut feeling you've come across something special. When I heard this song, it moved me. I love that it is about so much more than just saltwater."

EYB's producer Ross Copperman and hit songwriters Nicolle Galyon and Ashley Gorley penned "Saltwater Gospel." The band is currently in the studio recording its album.

Eli Young Band most recently was on Republic Nashville, also part of Big Machine. The group's last release, "10,000 Towns," came out in 2014.

This is Eli Young Band - Greatest Hits CD review - This is Eli Young Band - Greatest Hits
The Eli Young Band has reached a career milestone of sorts with the release of their "This is Eli Young Band: Greatest Hits" album. EYB has an impressive portfolio of music to date, with music spanning from the band's genesis with Mike Eli and James Young joining forces as Eli & Young while students at the University of North Texas. Rounding out the band with members Jon Jones and Chris Thompson, ELB was born and released its first album "Level" in 2005. »»»
Fingerprints CD review - Fingerprints
Eli Young Band confused, alienated and even lost some of its fans with the 2015 release of a fully slicked up pop EP; "Turn It On." "The fans wanted another record that was the sound and the kind of songs that were the old-school Eli Young Band" said lead singer Mike Eli. They have responded with "Fingerprints," their first full length album since 2014's "10,000 Towns." Though clearly not as blatantly pop as the downright danceable EP, »»»
Turn It On CD review - Turn It On
With the release of "Turn It On," the Eli Young Band brings new music about girls, love, and...disco. Singer Mike Eli, who co-wrote all four songs, is in fine voice, solidifying the EYB sound. The title cut, written with co-founder James Young, with its strong beat and up-front vocals, is tailor-made for listening while driving fast. With its "driving" beat and sing-along chorus, speeding tickets may increase. "Plastic" is about appreciating a girl who is »»»
Editorial: Walking the talk – When names like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Waylon and the Hag are invoked, you're talking hard core country. These are the touchstones of country , the guys who made country music what it was and still is (or maybe can be). When these folks would sing about being down-and-out and the rough-and-tumble, they knew of what they were singing about. Fast forward a few years to the country singers of today. »»»
Concert Review: There's a lot to be said about The Felice Brothers – The Felice Brothers have soldiered on, occupying the fringes of the musical world with ups and downs. Concert Review: Turner bring it on (to his second) home – Frank Turner opined during the first of four sold-out nights of the Lost Evenings Festival that Boston was his home away from his British home. The likable, accessible singer hit the sweet spot not only with his perspective, but his performance as well demonstrated why. Turner made a major change in this year's festival. For the first time, he... »»»
