Terri Clark disc gets delayed
Wednesday, June 27, 2007 – Terri Clark's label debut disc for SonyBMG was slated to come out in late July, but now the CD may not be out until fall. A label official said the July 24 release date has been delayed, perhaps until October, although no firm date was disclosed. Clark, a Canadian with numerous hits to her credit, previously had been on the Universal label.

Life Goes On
Terri Clark is at her best when her tempo matches the mood of the song - fast and happy or slow and sad. "Life Goes On" manages a few quiet, tearful moments, and plenty of enjoyable, upbeat fare.
The highlights of the album come from opposite ends of the spectrum. The slow burning "I Wish He'd Been Drinkin' Whiskey" is a stone cold sober heartbreak song, served straight up. The title track, on the other hand, bubbles with optimism and is delivered with all the growling sass that Clark can muster. »»» |
Greatest Hits 1994-2004
There's usually very little innovative or creatively significant about greatest hits packages and the same can be said for Terri Clark's venture into that realm. But what does hit home after a few times through these 14 songs is how much more than just a pretty face she really has been for the past 10 years.
Her slice of life numbers are sometimes playful, sometimes cynical and most times hopeful. But she manages to make all of the songs her own, even though just about half carry her name in the writing credit. »»» |

Here it is the top 30 for 2009. This isn't authoritative in case you thought otherwise. It's just one man's opinion about his favorite CDs of the year, which seemed a cut above everything else. It was incredibly hard figuring out a number one CD for the year between the Avett Brothers, Brad Paisley and George Strait. All three were great albums from different perspectives of country and roots music, and at any one time over the past few days, each was my favorite. Come back in a few days, and who knows?
