Charles Lamb country music journalism honors announced
Monday, May 21, 2007 – Michael McCall and Stephanie Ledgin were named winners of the Charlie Lamb Excellence in Country Music Journalism Awards. These awards, named in honor of Music City journalist Charlie Lamb, are presented to McCall in the "contemporary" category and Ledgin in the "career" category.
McCall is a long-time Nashville-based journalist. Ledgin recently wrote a book, "Homegrown Music Discovering Bluegrass." She also wrote "From Every Stage: Images of America's Roots Music."
McCall and Ledgin will receive the awards May 25th at a special awards luncheon held during the International Country Music Conference in Nashville.
Each year, various journalists are nominated for this honor. Samples of their work are then submitted and judged by a blue ribbon panel. "Michael and Stephanie have both done great stories on country music," said conference co-chair Don Cusic. "Michael consistently covers a wide range of topics in country music while Stephanie has done excellent work in the field of bluegrass."
