I'll Carry For You CD review - I'll Carry For You
Those who remember Chip Taylor solely from his writing credits for the hits "Wild Thing" and "Angel of the Morning" - or even perhaps for the series of country albums he recorded for a variety of record labels from the 1970s on - may not recognize the grizzled vocals and decidedly low cast delivery he applies on these two simultaneously released companion albums that overlap with similar circumstance. Somber, sobering and reflective, they find the veteran, singer/songwriter »»»

The Little Prayers Trilogy CD review - The Little Prayers Trilogy
If Chip Taylor had done nothing more than simply pen two of the biggest songs of his generation - "Wild Thing" and "Angel of the Morning" - his place in musical history would be well assured. So, it's to his credit that he's managed to reinvent himself several times over the course of his career, both as a gambler and as a man whose later career has found him traipsing through the darker tributaries of Americana as a singer and songwriter. Still, "The Little »»»
Editorial: Walking the talk – When names like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Waylon and the Hag are invoked, you're talking hard core country. These are the touchstones of country , the guys who made country music what it was and still is (or maybe can be). When these folks would sing about being down-and-out and the rough-and-tumble, they knew of what they were singing about. Fast forward a few years to the country singers of today. »»»
Concert Review: Henry comes out the other end a better man – Joe Henry mentioned at the outset that this show was not only the record release celebration, but also the anniversary - to the day - of when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Although the songs from this fine new album do not address his illness directly, they many times touch upon the big issues of human existence (life, death and the meaning of it all).... »»»
Concert Review: Turner pleases the traditionalists – Josh Turner is a hard-working citizen, a man of faith and a loyal father and husband. He also happens to be one of the youngest members inducted to the Grand Ole Opry. In short, he is the embodiment of country music's champion of the everyman. This night was special for him. He was celebrating an anniversary with his wife and his 18th with his label MCA.... »»»

Chip Kinman celebrates brother, career on "Sounds Like Music" For a brief moment last summer, the news of Tony Kinman's death was, if not greatly exaggerated, then at least fortuitously premature.
