Carrie Underwood tops releases
Tuesday, November 3, 2009 – Carrie Underwood is the big release today with her third album "Play On." The release from the former American Idol winner contains 13 songs, including the first single, Cowboy Casanova. Underwood had a hand in writing many of the songs.
Bluegrass band The Dixie Bee-Liners released their second album on Pinecastle Records, "Susanville." The disc is a rare themed album in the genre - about cars and trucks in America's cities.
Alan Jackson receives the Cracker Barrel treatment with "Songs of Love and Heartache." The disc contains 10 previously released Jackson songs with 2 unreleased tracks: That's What I'd Be Like Without You, originally recorded for his 2004 disc "What I Do" and Nothing Sure Looked Good on You, a Gene Watson cover.
A Hank Williams set, "Revealed: The Unreleased Recordings," also drops today. The music is from radio recordings made by Williams.

Adkins, on the other hand, has not been afraid to speak his mind with a kick butt attitude.... »»»
Concert Review: Eilen Jewell wears her musical hats well –
Eilen Jewell wears a lot of musical hats. The Idaho native, who now lives in Boston, fronts the Eilen (ee-lin) Jewell Band, a pretty much traditional country band. She's a member the Sacred Shakers, an octet doing gospel country with a country beat. And she has yet another project, Butcher Holler, covering Loretta Lynn songs.... »»»
