Red House Records names new president

Tuesday, November 27, 2007 – Red House Records named Eric Peltoniemi as the new president of the Minneapolis-based folk/roots label. A veteran producer, musician and songwriter, Peltoniemi has worked in the music industry for more than 35 years.

Peltoniemi replaces label founder Bob Feldman, who died suddenly in January 2006.

Hired by Feldman in 1986, Peltoniemi was the first full-time employee at Red House and worked closely with Feldman on many album projects and artist signings. After working as Vice President of Production for more than 20 years, he acted as label manger after the passing of Feldman and was formally named president this fall.

Peltoniemi isaid, "25 years is a long time for an independent label like us to be in business. And while the industry is at a critical crossroads, we're very optimistic about the future of Red House. We are blessed with a great staff and roster, including veteran songwriters like Greg Brown and Jorma Kaukonen and younger up-and-coming acts like Storyhill, The Pines and Meg Hutchinson."

Concert Review: Rich, Anderson, Denning pull it – Three diverse artists performing under the country rubric, who are trying to gain a foothold in the field, joined forces for a good old-fashioned guitar pull. And that may have been the best way for Tyler Rich, Abby Anderson and Travis Denning to showcase their wares. Rich has enjoyed the most commercial success of the three with his single "The... »»»
