LANCO goes double PLATINUM

Thursday, September 20, 2018 – LANCO has gone double PLATINUM with its hit "Greatest Love Story," signifying sales of 2 million.

Right after LANCO performed the chart-topper before lead singer and the track's sole-writer Brandon Lancaster was honored with the "Songwriter/Artist of the Year" award at the Nashville Songwriters' Awards event on Wednesday, the band learned of its honor from Sony Music Nashville officials.

"Looking back on this year and thinking of how many doors 'Greatest Love Story' has opened for the band blows my mind. This is a song we all believed in since day one and night after night we continue to see how it resonates with more and more people," said Lancaster. "2018 has proved that five guys can go from jamming in a warehouse to actually living out this wild dream. It just validates that we are on the right path and we can't thank our fans enough for riding out this journey with us. It feels like it's just the beginning."

The song is on the band's "Hallelujah Nights" debut. The song has received more than 423 million streams.

The group is out now with the single "Born To Love You."

LANCO will headline a tour for the first time on the Hallelujah Nights Tour starting in Columbia, Mo. at The Blue Note on Oct. 24.

Hallelujah Nights CD review - Hallelujah Nights
LANCO's "Greatest Love Story" is a radio single saturated in undeniable warmth and sweetness. But then, the attitude in "We Do" reeks of Florida Georgia Line and the chorus to "Singin' at The Stars" also brings country music's most annoying duo to mind. LANCO is a new act, and the jury's still on just which direction this five-piece will go. Will this group follow Midland as another truly legitimate country music collective, or could they follow »»»
Editorial: Walking the talk – When names like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Waylon and the Hag are invoked, you're talking hard core country. These are the touchstones of country , the guys who made country music what it was and still is (or maybe can be). When these folks would sing about being down-and-out and the rough-and-tumble, they knew of what they were singing about. Fast forward a few years to the country singers of today. »»»
Concert Review: Carlile takes her chances on feeling "Blue" – During a rare moment sitting at the piano and appropriately dressed in blue, Brandi Carlile paraphrased a memorable Joni Mitchell quote. Basically, it went that, if you listen to Joni Mitchell music and only picture Mitchell - but not yourself - something is wrong. While Carlile, who performed Mitchell's "Blue" album in its entirety for... »»»
Concert Review: Underwood keeps it world class – There are different levels of fame. There are quite a few artists who go by a mononym; no one asks "Sting or Bono "who?" And then there is an artist whose surname is used as a verb. Being "Underwooded" is a slang phrase used to describe car vandalism. That's American Idol's best-selling artist fame.... »»»

Chip Kinman celebrates brother, career on "Sounds Like Music" For a brief moment last summer, the news of Tony Kinman's death was, if not greatly exaggerated, then at least fortuitously premature. Shiflett learns "Hard Lessons" Until recently, Chris Shiflett took a somewhat obsessive/compulsive approach to his music career. For the past two decades, Shiflett has been the primary guitar foil for Dave Grohl in Foo Fighters; early in his tenure, Shiflett was so self-deprecatingly... »»»
