Presley expands the family

Wednesday, August 15, 2018 – Angaleena Presley, one-third of Pistol Annies and a solo artist, is slated to give birth in January.

Miranda Lambert made the announcement at her concert in Dallas with her fellow Annies, Ashley Monroe and Presley onstage with her.

Lambert announced, "One of us is drinking, one of us is smoking, and one of us is not taking our pill! Holler Annie's having a baby, everybody."

Lambert motioned to Presley, who made a growing baby bump very obvious as the crowd erupted in cheers and applause. A sign behind the band indicated the same.

Presley is married to Lambert's former tour manager Jordan Powell, whom she married in 2012. Presley has an 11-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Pistol Annies have appeared at shows on Lambert's tour with Little Big Town.

Lambert invited the Bandwagon Tour's surprise guests, Presley and Monroe, on stage to perform, but before they dropped a note Miranda said, "Since we're at a hometown show and both of them are married to Texans, we wanted to share some big news with you. See, one of us is drinking, one of us is smoking and one of us is not taking our pill! Holler Annie's having a baby, everybody!"

Presley said in a press release, "When I turned 40 my husband and I decided to put the decision to have a baby in the hands of fate. A year and a half after we 'stopped being careful,' we were blessed with two pink lines. To say the least, we were both shocked and overjoyed. As an outspoken, female artist, I feel like this is just one more thing that I'm meant to take on in this life. I'm ready to rock being an older mom. I have an 11-year-old son who's so excited to be a big brother. A long time ago, Lori Mckenna, one of my favorite artist/songwriter moms, told me it would be easier to have another one when my first one was old enough to babysit. I guess I took that to heart,."

"My husband and I are thrilled to be taking this journey together. That said, he's in training to NOT feed the baby any Texas BBQ until it's safe. I'm currently 16 weeks and due in January. Stay tuned for boy/girl news."

Presley has been working for the past several months finishing a new Pistol Annies' album, while she continues to work on solo material to follow "Wrangled" (2017) and "American Middle Class" (2014). She travels to the United Kingdom in September to perform in London and at The Long Road Festival.

American Middle Class CD review - American Middle Class
Angaleena Presley is best known as being one-third of Pistol Annies, the very cool side group with Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe. For Presley, the Annies (she is "Holler Annie") was her calling card to putting out this debut disc at 37, but the Annies needn't be thought of as a fall back plan for the Kentucky native. What separates Presley apart is her very sharp songwriting. Presley brings story songs to the fore, but these aren't feel good, everything works out in the »»»
Editorial: Walking the talk – When names like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Waylon and the Hag are invoked, you're talking hard core country. These are the touchstones of country , the guys who made country music what it was and still is (or maybe can be). When these folks would sing about being down-and-out and the rough-and-tumble, they knew of what they were singing about. Fast forward a few years to the country singers of today. »»»
Concert Review: These Eagles keep songs alive and well – The newly reconfigured Eagles lineup, which now includes Vince Gill and Deacon Frey in place of the late Glenn Frey, hasn't changed its set much since this modified grouping's debut at Dodger Stadium in 2017. Don Henley announced from the outset, though, how the group continues to tour primarily so it can keep the Eagles' many great songs alive.... »»»
Concert Review: Lovett could not have scripted it any better – Cerritos is a fair distance from Hollywood, but Lyle Lovett, who has accumulated a long list of acting credits, sometimes seemed like he was giving a company town performance this night. Maybe it was because Paul Reiser, the "Mad About You" star, introduced Lovett with a funny bit about what some of the man's songs mean (or don't mean).... »»»

Tyminski goes dark Dan Tyminski (known simply as "Tyminski" on his 2017 release "Southern Gothic") has traditional music roots and unassailable bluegrass street cred especially given his membership in Alison Krauss' Union Station. Washburn, Fleck create "Echoes" Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn have powerhouse individual talents; each has followed an estimable career path to where they find themselves today: making complex, but spare, records, writing music together and touring with their son Juno. Not one to rest on his laurels, Willie Nelson's second studio release of the calendar year finds the artist dipping back into the Great American Songbook. Pretty Bird CD review - Pretty Bird
"Pretty Bird" is Kathy Mattea's first studio album in six years, following 2012's "Follow Me Home." The major reason for this gap was Mattea's realization that her voice was changing so much, she felt as if she was losing it altogether.  »»»
