Country gives a welcome help to Japan

Kudos to Great American Country and a bunch of country artists for pitching in to help those in Japan suffering from the earthquake/tsunami disaster of last week.
Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Chris Young, Josh Thompson, Phil Vassar, Randy Houser, Heidi Newfield, Randy Montana and Katie Armiger taped public service announcements that will air on GAC to encourage people to donate to the Red Cross.
While, of course, sad about the disaster, it's good to see country community spread its wings. We are seeing more and more evidence of this. For example, Lee Ann Womack helped women in Malawi, while Big Kenny Alphin has been involved in the Darfur situation. All of those who contributed their time along with money are to be commended.
We tend to hear about country music artists getting involved in problems much closer to home, but it's always welcome to see the community respond in times of need wherever the need is.
