Kanye and Taylor

It's too bad that Kanye West had to interrupt Taylor Swift's award speech at the Video Music Awards. I never saw the video, but she won it for the song, "You Belong To Me."
He had also complained about losing a best new artist honor to Gretchen Wilson a few years ago and then subsequently apologized.
West is a talented and well-respected rap artist. He should let his music speak for itself. He could learn a lot about humility from George Strait. That's someone who's just let his career (quarter-century and counting...) speak for itself.
As for Swift, she's talented, too. But not country. That doesn't justify what West did in any way shape or form. But will this controversy benefit Swift in the long or short run?
I was joking with a friend that I wish West interrupted John Michael Montgomery or Joe Diffie, so then there would be some kind of buzz in the media about those great artists that are COUNTRY, indeed.
