Kissell wins Juno for Country Album of the Year

Tuesday, March 19, 2019 – Brett Kissell won the Juno for Country Album of the Year for "We Were That Song" on Sunday at Canada's annual music awards in London, Ontario, Canada.

This is the second Juno win for Kissel, who won in 2014 for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

"What an amazing weekend," said Kissel. "I've worked so hard this past year and put so many miles on the tour bus. It's wonderful to have this recognition from the industry and fans."

Donovan Woods took Contemporary Roots Album of the Year for "Both Ways."

Traditional Roots Album of the Year went to Pharis and Jason Romero for "Sweet Old Religion."

The Washboard Union won Breakthrough Group of the Year.

Shawn Mendes was the big winner, taking home five Junos.
